Working in the Film / Tv Industry for over 20 years, Iury Pinto, Director, Editor and Screenwriter, made short films at the New York Film Academy, where he graduated in Film directing in 2014, including “Detectives Should Never Fall in Love”. And before that, in 2008, He also graduated in Design and Animation.
Iury worked for 12 years at Globo, the largest commercial TV network in Latin America and the second-largest commercial TV network in the world, behind the American Broadcasting Company. At Globo Iury led the editing of numerous successful projects, including the Tv series “Iron Island” , which was featured in the “best in the world”, category by the American magazine “Variety”, as well as Tv Series “Old River” and the television film “Alexandre and other heroes”, both nominated for Emmy Awards.
At Globo, Iury took part in a unique creative process developed by the channel, which was even researched by several studios around the world. The team of nine editors, led by Iury, produced one 60-minute edited episode a day, which is equivalent to three feature films a week, something practically impossible for the high-quality models of the film industry.
In 2020 Iury left TV Globo to invest in his career as Director and Screenwriter at his production company, Asas Realizações, where he has already carried out several authorial projects, including the film “Masquerade”, a medium-length film written, directed and edited by him that received the title of Hors Concours at the Rio Film Festival (largest film festival in Latin America) and collected 29 awards around the world from the national and international film festivals he has attended.
In 2024 Iury is expanding his business by opening his film production company in the United States as well as maintaining his activities as director, screenwriter and editor, getting involved with projects from major studios such as Disney, Netflix, Paramount and Globo.

EDITING
Iury Pinto specializes in drama editing, having spent most of his career editing series, films and soap operas in this genre.
At TV Globo he was head editor on several projects, and throughout his career he has worked with award-winning directors such as Luiz Fernando Carvalho, Afonso Poyart, Walter Carvalho, Carlos Saldanha, among others.
On the technical side, Iury has specialized in the AVID platform, where he has been operating the editing software for over 17 years, with all the official certifications issued by the manufacturer.
His artistic background as an animator and his experience as a director also contribute greatly to a differentiated view of the editing process, which promotes a vast exchange of ideas in order to propose creative solutions and further enhance the final quality of the work.

DIRECTING
Iury began his directing career in 2008, directing video clips and advertising campaigns for audiovisual production companies in Rio de Janeiro.
In 2014 he specialized in film directing at the New York Film Academy in Hollywood, where he directed a number of films, including “Detectives Should Never Fall In Love”, which stood out for its creativity as it was shot in just two locations.
On his return to Brazil, Iury set up the production company Asas Realizações, which has been developing a number of projects in the areas of advertising and cinema.
The most recent film released by the production company and directed by Iury, is “Masquerade”, a medium-length film written, directed and edited by him, which in 2021 received the title of Hors Concours at the Rio Film Festival (the largest film festival in Latin America) and which has already collected 29 awards around the world from the national and international film festivals it has attended.

STOP MOTION AND ANIMATION
Passionate about animation since childhood, Iury discovered an aptitude for sculpting at a very young age.
At university, he created and led an animation research and study center, AnimaCarioca.
Before completing his studies in Design, Iury directed his first advertising campaign using the Stop Motion animation technique, which was highly acclaimed and led to an invitation for him to take over the college’s Design model office.
After graduating, he dedicated his career to Live Action cinema, but he never gave up his love of animation.
When he joined TV Globo, he had the opportunity to animate an opening for the “TV Globinho Show”, and today he uses all this background as creative inspiration for his projects.
